Checkout Terms
Payer-facing rules for SenteRail hosted checkouts, payment links, QR, and receipt flows.
These Checkout Terms are designed for payer-facing SenteRail hosted payment experiences. They clarify that SenteRail runs the payment interface and transaction rails, while the merchant remains responsible for the underlying sale or service.
If you are a business using SenteRail, see our Merchant Terms. If you have a complaint, see our Complaints and Redress Policy.
Application of these checkout terms
These Checkout Terms apply to payers, customers, and other users who access or use any SenteRail hosted checkout, payment link, QR checkout, receipt page, or similar payment interface made available through SenteRail on behalf of a merchant or institution.
These Checkout Terms govern your use of the SenteRail checkout interface itself. They do not replace the merchant's own terms, refund policy, delivery commitments, service conditions, or privacy notice. The merchant remains responsible for the goods or services you are buying.
SenteRail role in checkout
SenteRail provides the technical payment flow, orchestration, and transaction support interface for the checkout. Unless expressly stated otherwise, SenteRail is not the merchant of record, not the seller of the goods or services, and not the party responsible for product quality, delivery, warranties, or merchant performance.
SenteRail may facilitate transaction confirmation, status messaging, payment proof, and complaint intake routing, but merchant-side obligations remain the merchant's responsibility.
Failed, pending, duplicated, or mistaken transactions
A payment attempt may fail, remain pending, be delayed, or later require correction due to network conditions, provider issues, fraud review, customer error, merchant error, duplicate submission, mistaken amount entry, wrongful credit, or system reconciliation rules.
If you believe a transaction was unauthorized, duplicated, mistaken, or not reflected correctly, you should contact the merchant and SenteRail promptly using the available support channel and provide the transaction reference and any supporting information. SenteRail may work with the merchant and payment partners to investigate, but outcome timing and available remedies depend on applicable law, payment system rules, and the relevant facts.
Refunds and merchant disputes
Refund eligibility for the underlying purchase is determined primarily by the merchant's own terms, applicable law, and the facts of the transaction. SenteRail does not guarantee that a merchant will honor a refund request, but SenteRail may assist with complaint routing, information gathering, and platform-level investigation where appropriate.
If a refund, reversal, or compensation is ordered by law, partner rule, regulator direction, or a substantiated complaint process, SenteRail may facilitate or record that adjustment through the platform.
Security and lawful use
You must not use SenteRail checkout pages to test stolen credentials, automate unauthorized payment attempts, interfere with security controls, scrape transaction data, impersonate another person, or engage in fraud, phishing, abusive traffic, or any other unlawful activity.
SenteRail may monitor checkout activity, block suspicious requests, limit repeated failed attempts, or disable a checkout session where abuse or security risk is detected.
Electronic records and communications
You agree that transaction confirmations, receipts, status messages, and related records may be provided electronically. You should keep your own copy of the transaction reference, merchant details, amount, and receipt or status page for future reference.
SenteRail may send messages or display in-session notices concerning transaction status, next steps, additional verification, or support pathways.
Privacy
SenteRail processes personal data relating to checkout use as described in our Privacy Policy. The merchant may also process your data under its own privacy notice, which you should review separately where available.
Disclaimers and liability
SenteRail is not responsible for the nature, quality, safety, legality, or delivery of the goods or services sold by the merchant. To the maximum extent permitted by law, SenteRail disclaims liability for merchant performance, except to the extent loss is directly caused by SenteRail's own non-excludable legal responsibility.
Nothing in these Checkout Terms limits any consumer protection rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable law.
